NYC Walk tours is a "one man band" personal tour for people who are looking for
a more personal hands on tour and exploration of the city.
I've always been one of those people who have been told, "..you should give tours",
well I've decided to do just that.
After giving a lot of thought to what type of tours would be most informative for visitors,
but also not boring for myself, I came up with 3 core ideas:
1. NYC / Manhattan orientation and navigation:
This will hit navigating and using forms of transportation that best suits your needs,
along with highlights of as many neighborhoods as you like.
This can be customized from 2 hours to 2 days, or whatever suits your needs.
New York City can be overwhelming in size and scope, and any area can be assimilated
from Battery Park to the Cloisters.
Secondly, I thought:
2. Brooklyn:
Brooklyn is where I've lived since my arrival in New York City in 1996.
Brooklyn is really now the "city that is all grown up" and features some of
the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in the world.
I've been to and understand most of them. From Williamsburg to Park Slope,
Bedford Stuyvesant and Sunset Park, there are many options to explore within
this wonderful borough.
Finally, the 3rd tour in my core of 3 is
3. NYC Food:
As a former long time employee of The French Culinary Institute, I was indoctrinated
as a "foodie" from day one. The broad and diverse food culture in New York City is
something to behold.
From the finest restaurants all the way down to the food truck phenomena that has seen
exponential growth in recent years. I can craft a tour that is sure to please your pallet
and stimulate your brain.
